HS and snow pack obs

I noticed various open areas with surface hoar developement, mainly from 6,000-7,500'.
 

 Riding from around 6,000 to 8,000' I found about 13 cm of surface snow that was dry and powdery, under that the settlement has formed a thick slab keepIng the snowmobile on top of the snowpack. It is so thick that when your ski dives in it could stop you, however your track cuts into it and can dig very deep. 
 

I dug a pit at 8,000 on a north aspect with 200cm of total snow. I found the surface is fist hard, with a 4finger + layer from 13cm down to 35cm, then a fist + layer to 67cm. From 67 down to 157cm it is 1 finger. At 157cm there is a 4cm thick crust with 2mm facets underneath it that are 4 finger hard. 
 

I performed a CT to see if there is any instabilities in the upper snowpack. It produced a sudden planer result when hitting from the shoulder at 55cm down. This is a density change in some of the storm snow. I did not have time for an ECT as it was getting dark.

I also performed a deep tap targeting the facets. However it broke above the crust, and then again below the crust in the facet layer.

with the facets being so deep one would have to find the sweet spot in order to be able to trigger them, but if triggered a slide would be very large and distructive.
