Active wind transport and previous warming on Tamarack

This morning, toured from the meadows up the south side of Tamarack, skied down the north east ridge, skinned back up, and skied down the south side (were out from ~8 AM - 10:30). Skinning up the south side below tree line, lots of evidence of warming from past few days, with a breakable MF crust (1-5 mm, with cold snow beneath), settlement cones/collars around trees, and piles of ice balls under trees where snow had dripped out of the canopy and refrozen. Some areas still held soft cold snow, but they were only where the trees were spaced well apart without being an opening. At the top, SW winds were gusting up to 25 mph, with active transport of snow into Hourglass, refilling some tracks near the top; could see wind slab formation just below the ridge crest in the top of the bowl.  Found some thick wind slabs near the top of the NE ridge of Tamarack while skiing down, but conditions for skiing improved greatly below tree line. Winds were swirling a bit in this zone, felt like we were getting winds up slope out of the north while skinning back up. Skiing back down the south side of Tamarack was challenging, with variable conditions and thick, breakable MF crust widespread.
