Cornice failures on Castle Ridge

We started our tour at 10am heading to Castle Peak from the fire road. Once on the ridge, we noticed a cornice failure on Adesite Peak on the northwest aspect. As we continued up the ridge toward Castle Peak, a raincrust became present and got worse as we continued up the ridge forming a 1/2 inch breakable crust that easliy slid over the softer snow beneath it making it difficult to break trail out of the skin track. Looking back at the north side of Castle Ridge, we saw a cornice failure and small slide but couldn't tell if it was natural or human triggered. Once in the trees at the top of the ridge, we traversed up to the summit through some very heavily wind loaded terrain but didn't observe any cracking or whumpfing. As we got above the trees, the snow quickly became scoured and the breakable rain crust was present again all the way to the summit. We observed heavy blowing wind coming up from the northeast bowl of Castle which was transporting snow and loading the west aspect. We chose to traverse the ridge towards Basin Peak and decend into Round Valley.
