Cornice break and ensuing wet loose

Upon reaching the top of Donner Ridge we were enjoying the view of Johnson canyon and Castle Peak when we saw a group descending from the ridge immedietly to our west. As the last member was climbing back up the ridge a bit, presumably picking an entry point, he/she caused a collapse of the cornice they were on. It appeared to be accidental, but it was unclear. While cornice pieces did not trigger a slab they did appear to entrain more snow with them in what looked like a small, slow moving wet loose slide. The individual appeared to stay on their skis and be okay, and skied down after a few minutes. It is an east facing, maybe slightly northeast facing, aspect at around 7200 feet on the ridge.

On our ascent from Ski Slope Way to Donner Ridge we found mostly dense, wet snow that glopped on to our skins to some degree. Snow in the shade maintained a slightly more powder-like consistancy. On a few small steeper pitches we observed tiny rollerballs. Very few clouds in the sky and warm temperatures. We only observed wind affected snow at the very top of Donner Ridge. While very light sastrugi indicated North or Northeast wind recently, it was the Northeast side of the ridge that had the cornices and most of what seemed like dense, previously wind deposited snow. We chose what looked like a very small pillow of wind deposited snow (still on the northeast side of the ridge) and successfully got the top several inches to move as a cohesive chunk by jumping on it. It didn't go far at all as it was very small and immediatly above a flatter area.
