Variable Conditions in Gray Creek

Toured in search of unconsolidated cold snow that may have evaded the NE winds.  Our efforts were minimally rewarded.  Winds have scoured the majority of N facing terrain capable of retaining cold snow this time of year.   Conditions were sub-optimal.  Pockets of cold snow existed but finding contiuous stretches was rather challenging.  Most aspects were a combination of wind scour and frozen crust. 

Ridge top winds were strong to gale force out of the N NE most of the day.  The combination of wind and midday cloud cover limited wet snow development.
