Surface hoar on sunrise bowl

We saw widespread 5-6mm surface hoar on our morning tour of sunrise bowl.  Winds were light in the morning, by 11am SW winds started increase.  We observed some blowing snow at the ridgetop but no wind slab formation yet.   The surface hoar remained mostly upright in all but the most wind exposed areas when we returned to the car around noon.  

1-2" of low density snow on top of last week's rain crust in this area.  Punching through the crust with our poles we found a layer of small facets.
