Dust on crust on the West Shore

Limited snow totals from the past few days with maybe an inch falling overnight on the highway. At the top there was up to 3-6" of very loose and light dry snow sitting on a firm crust. It was difficult to tell how much was from last night versus 1/23. Skinning was challenging due to the fully ski supportable crust that was predominant.

In some places you could probe through the crust with your pole and feel facets under the crust on north aspects. 

Not enough cohesive snow from last night to notice any instabilitties due to buried surface hoar. Couldn't rule it in or out, although there was surprisingly little wind affected snow even up high, so if there was surface hoar, we can assume it got buried.
