Echo Peak, Soth Lake Tahoe.

We broke trail to just under the summit of Echo Peak.Very low density snow to about half way up. Then the snow density changed to higher density. We did not choose to cross the final open slope to the summit due to suspect wind loading and wind slab. We did observe two wind slab avalanches on north aspects on steep 40 degree(?) slopes south of the main open bowl climbers left of the summit. Looked like these avalanches acurred at the end of the storm cycle. The crown on both were approx 3 feet, and 80 m wide, with a 100-150 m run out.

The skiing was best on the upper half. The lower half was "too deep" to make turns. There was challenging low density snow on manzanita bushes getting in and out.
