Elephants Hump

We toured South from Red Lake toward the Elephants Hump. There was windblown and scoured slopes in open areas on west aspects but once in the trees the snow softened and was very enjoyable on the way down. There were areas of thin snow cover but for the most part there was 50-100cm. Our stability test resulted in 2xCTM SC/SP at 44cm down, ECTP16 on the same layer, and a PST 55/100 End. We ended up riding down the low angle terrain back down to the Red Lake parking area on very good quality snow in the trees.
