Wind scouring on Powderhouse

We skinned up to Powderhouse Peak this morning, starting around 9:20am.  The snowpack from the base to the peak showed signs of wind scouring, although not that severe.  Older skin tracks were filled in and we followed a newer track that approached from the west side of the peak.  The snow remained unconsolidated new snow ~5in on top of older soft snow from start to the peak.  In some sections of the track, it followed older sections of track which revealed chunky snow.  But this was easily breakable and not an issue.  No signs of ice on the track were found as was the case over the past weekend.

On the descent, the snow was slightly heavier than on Sunday and remained consistent to the bottom.  Small amounts of sloughing occurred but nothing significant.
