West Shore Observations

We made observations on Rubicon Peak today.  The recent storm snow has been settling and gaining strength quickly, we noted the difference in ski pen from yesterday at around knee deep to today down to shin deep.  We had good views into Desolation Wilderness from the top of Rubicon.  We were able to make out some avalanches that released during the storm and were mostly covered up by additional storm snow.  We did not see any large avalanches with wide propagation that would indicate avalanches associated with the Dec 1 persistent weak layer.  NE winds were mostly light with no visible blowing snow on the bigger peaks in the area.
