Wet Loose snow on N. Carson Pass

     I toured on the north side of Carson pass towards Red Lake peak this morning. When I arrived @ 0915 it was lightly raining in the Meiss meadow parking lot @ 8500'. Shortly after I started up I came across a debris pile of wet loose snow that was from the last couple of days.  As I climbed near 9000' the top 10cms of snow was wet and compressible. The rain line at this time appeared to be hovering around ~9500'. Once I broke the ridge line the gale force winds were in full affect making traveling difficult as I had to lean into to the wind to maintain my balance at times. Reaching the ridge I was able to see overhanging cornice development but no slides in the bowl underneath them. From there I descended down to an area to dig a pit @ 8500' on a NE aspect, at this point it started snowing around 1030. The snow pack was mostly right side up with a few density changes mixed in. I performed 2x compression tests and got Q1 results @ 50cms down both times. I was able to identify a buried surface hoar within this interface. From there I  performed a ECT and got clear propagation across the same interface on a tap 21. The column did not slide off and required a pry from the back. After I cleaned up I traveled around to smaller features and produce wet loose movement within the surface snow. Heading back to the truck I did see another wet loose debris pile under steeper terrain that appeared to have released today.  I arrived at my truck around 1145 and moderate snowfall was still occurring back at the parking lot. As I drove down the pass the rain line  started ~8000 again.
