Whumpfing at Pickett Peak

We went to a low elevation area today, looking for a place where it rained a lot and where the Dec 1st facets existed. I was curious to see how the rain might have impacted the facets. Unfortunately, the facets in this area were still quite reactive today. I lost count of how many whumpfs we experienced. Many were triggered by the second person, and many caused surrounding trees to shake and shed their recent snow. The rain crust was supportive to travel, with a few inches of cold, light snow on top of the crust. This made it hard to feel the facets using ski poles to probe, and hard to maintain awareness of the facets as we traveled (had it not been for the regular whumpfing).
