Cold and Windy on Stoney Ridge

I found a wide variety of snow surface conditions on Stoney Ridge today. Breakable melt/freeze crusts existed on some sunny slopes, and others just had firm frozen melt/freeze crusts. E and NE winds and cold temperatures kept everything frozen today, and the sunny slopes showed no signs of softening. 

The shady northerly aspects still have some cold snow on them. In exposed areas, wind-scouring and sculpting have exposed old crusts or created firm wind-packed surfaces. The sheltered areas still hold a few inches of soft snow on the surface. This soft snow continues to slowly get weaker and facet. 

The E and NE wind increased during my tour. I did not see any signs of instability.
