Warm and windy day at Tragedy Springs.

     Toured out near Tragedy Springs today, the weather was sunny and warm. However, the wind was strong out of the E-NE, there felt like a ten degree difference standing in and out of the wind especially on solar aspects.This did slow the melting process a little but only at the ridgeline. Snow conditions in this area were variable mixed with, melt freeze crusts, wind effected chalky snow, and wet loose snow. Snow was starting to soften by mid morning and continued throughout our tour. Despite loosening up; the wet snow never amounted to much in the way of instability, mostly clumpy slough piles during a turn. At best there was a trace amount of snow from last Mon/Tue storm cycle, this snow was only found in shaded protected areas. The HS in this area was 110cm and more rocks and dirt is starting to show on solar aspects.
