Cathedral Peak wet snow

We toured S to SE aspect terrain on Cathedral Peak today. Much of the true S aspect terrain that held usable snowcover two weeks ago is now melted out to bare ground and unusable. Areas of more SE aspect terrain to the west of the summit still hold a uniform 2 to 3 feet of snowcover.

Descending from 8,200' in a SE aspect gully feature at 12:15 pm we had 2 inches of surface wet snow over a supportable base for the entirety of the descent. We were able to trigger one very, very tiny loose wet sluff near 7,800'. This was only significant because it was the only sign of surface wet snow instability we have seen in weeks.
