Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions: 

Clear skies after some early morning high clouds. Ridgetop winds were gutsing to 70mph Air temps were in the low 40s. We were trying to see if the nearcrust facet layer would propagate. It did X3  but my tap from my elbow was a little harder than it should have been. :) 

Other surface facets in the area had significantly become more moist the last three warm days. No surface hoar was noted on our short tour.
