Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions: 

Dug a pit on a NE aspect at around 8200' in elevation. Pit showed excellent structure and strength, with the exception of some minimally developed near surface facets. These did fail in a compression test, but showed no propagation potential or energy.
