Strong Winds and blowing snow - Carpenter Ridge

Winds were strong out of the SW and wind effect was prevalent on all exposed terrain.  Snow was available for transport and could be seen blowing from ridges around the crest.  Cornice and wind slab development will continue to increase as snow is still readily available for transport.  Unsupported wind slabs were reactive and touchy.  Supported wind slabs were stubborn and harder to trigger.  Wind slabs in this area were 1F resting on F, and ranged from 10-30cm.  We found old avalanche debris from a cornice failure onto a wind slab with propagation.  Unconsolidated snow still remains in sheltered / protected terrain.
