Ice and crust Elephant’s Back to Hump

We toured from Carson Pass to Elephant's Back, over to Elephant's Back, and then down to Red Lake.  Besides the skin in from the pass before heading up to Elephant's, we just kept finding dust on crust. And even worse, dust on icy crust. See photos.  Two other skiers booted back up from below Elephant's Back because they said the conditions were too dangerous. 

We doubled back along the ridge and dropped the slope where there was a hint of powder.  Then traversed across to Elephant's Hump.  Still came across lots of dust on ice.

Dropped down to Red Lake where the snow was dust on crust.  No more ice at least.
