Snow pit from LTS

Two snow pits today. Graph of one. Snow depth at or near 8000' 79cm. North west exposure. With calm clear sky. Temperature at surface -10 c  gradually increasing to 0c at ground.Facet snow to 38cm gradually gaining strength to ground. Column test revealed no reactions 30 taps. Boot penetration 25cm. Fun snow, however as the forecast says there are buried treasures. Stumps, rocks, trees and many obstacles to get to 8000'.
