Wind slab avalanche in tamarack area

Set off a small wind slab while skiing an isolated, steeper feature below tree line. Second skier on that slope. Propagated about 20 ft, saw it crack in front of me. Skied out of it downhill. 

Crown depth was about a foot, ran for 100-150 feet downhill. On the skin back up, small rollovers were consistently breaking in small slabs. Photo is of a coherent slab near a kick turn (deep breaking today!

I dug several handpits around convexities. Seemed to be about a foot of dense snow (wind packed or warm, couldn't be sure) over a colder, less dense two to four inches, then denser snow below that. The wind or storm slab I triggered broke on the transition below the few inches of cold, light snow about a foot down.
