Description of Snow, Weather, and Avalanche Conditions:

Toured the Deer Park/Alpine Meadows Road Corridor with an AIARE Level 1 course with the goal to ski north-facing aspects and to get some field observations. Most of the north-facing terrain that had not been exposed to any sun had developed some prevalent surface hoar flakes (we noticed SH crystals ranging from around 2mm to upwards of 5mm). Some substantial cornices have built up on north facing ridges however we did not see any recent avalanches or evidence of cornice failure. We measured a snow depth of 230cm at 7800 ft on a NW facing slope. We also noticed that snowlines around trees have started to settle around 10-15cm.
