Variable Snow Conditions in Perazzo Meadows area

Wind affected surface snow with firm windboards and soft snow deposits was observed throughout the meadows. Hard wind slabs varying in depth were found in "near treeline terrain" on all aspects. We observerd minimal blowing snow today mainly in the late morning/early afternoon with the winds coming from the N/NE. Very minimal warming today only observed on southern exposures with some "hot pow" and trees dripping melt off, otherwise the North/Northeast winds kept things chilly. Good riding snow does exist at lower to mid elevations in protected areas but overall snow conditions were variable.

A surface hoar layer was observed about 32cm down. Compression Test results varied however our ECT suggested no propagation.
