breezy & cold above Carson Valley

I toured from the valley to the ridge N of Genoa peak today, and found deep snow and solid wind.  It was very cold, with wind transport on the ridges. There were cornices on both sides in spots, and windslabs on both sides as well. None of the windslabs were reactive.  The snow was stable and soft down to 5000'.  Solar aspects were getting wet and starting to have tiny rollerballs by early afternoon.  There was evidence of numerous small natural slides in various gullies on all aspects.
