 Around 1:30 pm today, 1/14/12, while traversing along south side of Incline peak a slab let loose 10 feet or less in front of me.

The slide started under some large exposed boulders with southern exposure. The first 2 photos were taken where I was when the slab let loose.

I didn't think there was that much snow that had wind loaded but it was quite dense and deep, especially near the top.

 Suprised me, but then again, they always do

 mid 20's. clear, not much wind, bright sun and rocks heating up from the sun. Trees sparsley spaced around start zone.
