More detailed information about the snowpack: 

On the NE-E facing slope of Tamarack Peak minimal snow accumulation was observed. There was blowing snow on top of the exposed crust surface layer throughout the majority of the NE-E facing peak. Aspects that faced more NE held more pockets of snow (5cm). There were no signs of instability within the new loading of precipitation.

A snow pit was dug at 9,400 feet on a 35 degree slope at a 65 degree aspect (photo 1) . A weak layer was found 55cm below the snow surface and broke at a score of CT 22. This 55cm layer consisted of moist snow and was the only main area of concern (photo 2).
