More detailed information about the snowpack: 

 On the NE-E facing slope above Incline Lake, snow had already began to warm up as daytime temperatures rose above freezing. This warming caused numerous point release slides on slopes above 8,500 feet. Overall stabilities on the more N facing slopes seemed to be more stable.

A pit test was conducted on a 30 degree slope at 8,650 feet (NE-E slope: 61 degrees) and found a weak layer 10cm below the snow surface (no snow pilot was entered). This layer broke on a score of CT21 with a shear of Q3; this fracture did not propagate through the entire column.
