Toured around the Incline Lake Peak area and towards Rose Knob Peak.  Temperatures were lower today and the winds kept things cooler at the higher elevations.  Where a wind crust exists on NW-N-NE aspects I found some small facets below this crust that were reactive with CT's with clean planar Q1 shears.  The wind crust showed no signs of propagation and is only 10-12cm in thickness but might be something to monitor when our next storm loads this layer starting tomorrow.  I did not see any evidence of wet snow instabilities today with the cooling weather.  At higher elevations solar aspects skied well with mostly a ski supportive melt freeze crust.  At lower elevations, especially near rocks where lower snowpacks exist the snow was punchy and soft in the early afternoon but very few roller balls occured.

Photo: 2mm surface hoar on all aspects and elevations.  Destroyed on all solar aspects by midday.
