Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Snowfall starting around 9am this morning and picking up during the afternoon hours.  Mostly moderate SW winds with gusts into the strong range with moderate snow transport.  3-4'' new snow by mid afternoon with 4-6'' below ridgelines in wind loaded areas.  No cracking or shooting cracks seen in wind loaded areas, NE/E terrain near ridgelines from 8500-9200'.  Heavy sluffing ran efficiently for several hundred feet downslope but no propagation occurring.  Ski supportable crust on most S and SE aspects, the new snow bonded well to this crust coming in warm and cooling throughout the day.  NE and E protected slopes had unconsolidated snow below the new snow above 8000'.  Dug several hand pits throughout the day with no clean results.  CT's done at 8500' and 9000' showed easy shears just above the old snow/new snow interface.  Ski cut/ski kicked many slopes with no propagation results.
