More detailed information about the snowpack:

On shaded protected aspects there was 4-6'' of unconsolidated surface snow that provided good riding conditions.  Exposed areas had scoured snow sufaces or some sort of crust-supportable or breakable.  The old snow surface rain crust has continued to facet over the last 1.5 months of clear weather.  Some places this crust was almost undetectable and other places it was firm and well established.  Solar aspects did soften today in this area by early afternoon, SE-SW.  Many solar aspects have completely burnt off to rocks and dirt.  West winds were light to moderate on the ridgelines and peaks throughout the day, a much warmer day then what we have been used to over the last few days.
