More detailed information about the snowpack:

Mt. Rose was not favored during this storm with 2-4'' at the trailhead and 4-6'' on the upper terrain.  No blowing snow observed throughout the day and very few clues that much wind loading had occured previously.  Some slight wind texture on upper slopes but very little new cornice growth.  Cornice kicks and ski cuts produced sluffing in steeper terrain.  The bonding of the new snow to the old snow surface appeared to be good overall, there was a high degree of variability with the old snow surface depending on aspects and elevations .
