More detailed information about the snowpack:

Snow conditions varied greatly on Incline Lake Peak today. On the sun-exposed E-SE-S-SW aspects, layers of supportable crusts and soft snow alternated in many areas up to 9000 ft (see photo). Above 9000 ft on these aspects, wind scoured frozen crusts existed on the snow surface. On the NE-N aspect that are shaded and sheltered from the winds, 3-5 inches of soft, unconsolidated snow remained on the snow surface above 8800 ft. Below 8800 ft on these aspects, patches of breakable crusts started to exist. On the northerly slopes exposed to the winds near the summit firm wind packed snow comprised the surface layer.

Ski cuts, hand pits, and general observations in this area showed mostly stable results at all elevations and on all aspects. Probing in the area revealed snowpack deeper than 9 ft on almost all N-NE aspects.
