We dug a pit just past Becker's peak on a NNW face just below the ridge.  Depths are approximate, no measurements were taken. Shovel-width column failed while isolating (roughly - it was a hasty pit) it.  Time was about 1430 on Sunday.  Failure occurred in likely faced suspect layer between crusts approximately 8-9" down.  While skiing, snow was stable but some sluffing was noted in steeper areas.  Sluffing occurred even though there was a widespread thin but easily breakable crust, even on northerly aspects.
