I dug a pit on the North side of Castle Peak. Elevation approx 8100ft. Slope angle of 35 degress. Height of snowpack 220-240cm. Surface hoar 2-5mm in size in many areas. Surface snow temp -9.4c, 20 cm snow temp -7.2c. Compression test results CT11, 80cm down, on ice layer. Repeatable reults. Ice layer at 80cm is 10cm thick.
