More detailed information about the snowpack:

In the late morning hours snow transport was limited due to the scouring of the windward slopes back down to firm snow.  Wind transport increased greatly when the snow started around 12 noon.  Snow surface conditions varied from mostly wind effected snow and crusts to some soft snow and some wind blown snow.  Early afternoon the storm had deposited 3-4'' of new snow.  Visibility was very limited once the storm set in.  Results from my snowpit varied with some tests indicating the 12/2 facets and old windslabs were problematic and some tests did not indicate propagation was likely on these layers.
