More detailed information about the snowpack: 

Data concerning the upper part of the snowpack continues to indicate a strengthening trend in snow layers above the old persistent weak layers. Snowpits did reveal a small density change in the top 15cm. 200-300 cm of strong snow sits above the persistent weak layers.  Ski cuts and oven sized pieces of cornice dropped onto wind loaded test slopes did not cause any signs of instability in this area. The Dec 12th facets above the rain crust, the first rain crust, and the Dec 2nd facets below the rain crust could all be felt with a probe.
