More detailed information about the snowpack: 

NE winds had stripped N, NE, E aspects of yesterday's snow, down to a melt freeze crust formed by the recent warm weather.

Some SW slopes were loaded by up to 30cm of wind slab. However, slabs were discontinuous in this area, and not large enough to pose a hazard. Ski cuts of several wind loaded test slopes produced no results.

Pit: interesting that the faceted layer above the Jan 26th rain crust and below the MFcr was not as weak as the facets below the Jan 26th crust. No percolation tubes observed below the Jan 26th rain crust - possibly they have faceted away.
