More detailed information about the snowpack:

Significant melting has occurred in this area during the warm weather and rain. Running water existed up to 8000 ft. in small drainage channels and runnels had formed on the snow surface in open areas.

The snowpack ranged from 0 to 2 ft. deep between 7000 ft and 8200 ft in non-wind-loaded areas. The pack consisted of a mix of crusts and consolidated snow. Some moist snow still existed within the snowpack. In some areas the surface crust was supportable and in others it was breakable.

Snowpit tests, ski cuts, and general observations showed no signs of instability in this area below 8200 ft.
