Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Stability in this area appeared better than what has been consistently observed around the rest of the forecast area. Skier triggered collapses were very isolated and very small. Cracking was limited to within a foot or two of the trigger point. No whumphing was heard. Snowpit tests indicated that propagation on the Dec 7 facet layer remains possible in this area, keeping concern for human triggered avalanches ongoing.

The snowpack in this area was supportable to the weight of a person on skis. Impacts with rocks and logs were much less frequent as compared to other locations.
