Near crust faceting evident in the top 1 foot of the snowpack. Tests indicate that the facet layers are still fairly strong at this location. These layers are difficult to collapse and propagation associated with any collapse is unlikely.

No snow available for wind transport despite strong SW winds.

Southerly aspects at 8,400' held 1 inch of wet snow over supportable crust at noon.
