More detailed information about the snowpack:

1-2'' of new snow in the Mt. Rose area.  This new snow sits on a frim crust that is ski supportive.  Very little evidence of any windloading during the storm with no wind slabs found in the more wind prone areas.  Winds did shift to the North this morning and there was some snow being moved on to SE-S-SW aspects in the more exposed terrain but this was very minor.  Ski cuts, stability tests and snowpit observations all pointed to a stable snowpack in this area.

Photo#1:  Ski cut on a small wind loaded test slope at treeline.  2-4'' new snow, no evidence of any wind slab just dry loose snow.

Photo#2:  North aspects with minimal wind loading during the storm.  Winds shifted to moderate north winds this morning that were moving very small amounts of snow.
