More detailed information about the snowpack:

Soft cold snow still remains on the sheltered and shaded N-NE aspects in near and below treeline areas on Tamarack Peak.  Persistent weak layers of sugary snow (facets) do exist around a crust below the recent snow on some of the northerly slopes in this area. Tests on slopes where this stratigraphy existed indicated that fractures can propagate along these weak layers. On slopes where these weak layers are less developed or do not exist tests indicate a more stable snowpack. On near and above treeline exposed N-NE aspects wind scoured surfaces exist.  On any slopes that received sun today the snow quickly became wet and sticky. Some small wind slabs did exist near the ridgeline on the SE-S-SW aspects. Some small roller balls and wet point releases did occur on the SE-S aspects of Incline Lake Peak near exposed rocks.
