Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

3-6 cm of soft wet corn snow existed on top of a barely supportable melt-freeze crust on the E-SE aspects of Incline Lake peak at 11 am. today. Supportable crusts left over from the overnight refreeze still existed on the N-NE aspects on Incline Lake Peak as of 11:30 am. 30 minutes later the overnight refreeze had melted away completely in most places leaving 30-40 cm of soft, unsupportable wet snow behind on any aspects with snowcover up to 9600 ft. Obstacles are quickly melting out on the southerly slopes.

Photo 1: Boot penetration on a sunny NE slope at 9400 ft.

Photo 2: Quickly diminishing snow cover on the SE-S-SW aspects of Incline Lake peak

Photo 3: Rocks and other obstacles melting out on an E aspect at about 8800 ft.
