Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

This area is yet another example of a weak but currently stable snowpack. There are several faceted weak layers both shallow and deep in the snowpack that have shown marginal change in strength over the past 3 weeks. These weak layers are not in good condition to handle loading from either new snow or rain. Due to the slow rate of change in these weak layers, they are expected to remain weak for some time to come. In below treeline areas above about 7,200', well developed near surface facets exist at the surface on northerly aspects. This is another widespread weak layer that could pose avalanche problems if/when precipitation occurs.
