Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Snowpit: Although the hand hardness profile looks spooky here, the basal weak layers were observed to be well anchored in this area. 1f, pencil, and knife layers combined were strong and hard to cut though with a saw.

Photo: Still fairly low snow in this area, with several rock strikes for us today. Small zones of great riding with shallow snow to link between them. Even with recent snow, snowpack in general has settled and/or been wind scoured since last observations in the area 2 weeks ago (not posted to SAC).

Minimal cracking observed under recent wind slabs. In several zones throughout the Blue Lakes area, snow on shaded slopes was structurally similar to that shown by snowpit. Slope cuts did not show signs of instability today.
