Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

The E-SE-S-SW-W aspects remained mostly frozen above 8000 ft. Some softening did occur on these slopes below 8000 ft, but no wet snow instabilities were observed. Surface warming also also occurred on some northerly aspects and typically shaded areas below 8400 ft. due to the cloud cover today. This warming produced wet, sticky snow in these areas. At the upper elevations, the northerly aspects held a mix of firm surfaces and breakable crusts in exposed areas and well consolidated softer snow in sheltered areas. Snowpit data indicated that the weak layer below the rain crust is still there, but that it is not yet reactive.
