Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

The 10 to 14 inches of recent snow on the surface in this area remains soft and unconsolidated. It has not coalesced into a slab above the old snow layers. Snowpit data indicated that the snow at the base of the recent snow (the old potential weak layer) has started to gain strength. The rain crust below this layer remains thick and frozen. Ski cuts and observations on the northerly aspects did not reveal any signs of lingering instabilities. Some wet sticky surface snow did start to form on the more sun exposed aspects in the afternoon. I did not notice any signs of loose wet snow instabilities during my tour.
