Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

We dug this pit on a south-facing aspect because we noticed recent avalanche activity today on a southeast aspect of Mt. Houghton and wanted to see if similar instabilities existed on a similar aspect on Tamarack Peak. I submitted an avalanche observation for the Mt. Houghton avalanche in a separate observation.

Quick note on the snowpit location: because of the snowpit's location in an open area of a south-facing aspect, it is reasonable to believe that this area has been affected by wind scouring over the last 4-5 days.
