Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

37 cm of soft, cold and unconsolidated snow existed above a thick rain crust above 7400 ft on the northerly aspects of Angora Peak. Snowpit tests, ski cuts on test slopes, and general observations did not reveal any signs of instability. At the summit of Angora southwest winds were starting to transport snow in the afternoon. By 3:30 pm the snow on the N-NE-E aspects below 7200 ft. started to warm up and become wet and heavy. Ski cuts on lower elevation slopes triggered small loose wet snow instabilities like pinwheels and sluffs on steep test slopes at that time.
